Rates for covered California are soaring while preferred providers lists are shrinking. If you have a grandfathered plan thru us keep it as long as you can. The rates will go up slower and the choice of providers is better.
Stanford is no longer accepting ACA plans due to low reimbursement. Group and Grandfathered plans are still accepted.
Obamacare: Covered California's health plan prices soar
Californians who buy coverage through the state's health insurance exchange better get ready for a dose of sticker shock: Average premiums next year will shoot up more than 13 percent statewide -- and could even double that in some parts of Northern California. read full story...
50% cut in Agents' commissions on Medicare supplement products. This was preceded by an 80% cut in commissions on Blue Shield individual health insurance. Obamacare has effectively forced us out of the health insurance business. Luckily most of our health insurance clients have their home, auto and business insurance with us as well.
This allows us to continue to provide service to our existing clients as an accommodation. If you do not have your other insurance with us please call our office for a free review. This will allow us to remain in business to help our clients that value our services, even if the government and insurance companies do not.
MIC auto rate increases 5% on an average. If your rate goes up more than this please call us for a free review and comparison with our other markets. Combine your home and auto to save 15%!
We expect rates to increase for individual and group medical plans in the high single digits. The companies do not have enough data on the effects of the ACA because they were required to file rate requests in May 2014. This means they only had 3 months of data to come up with rates.
How will the ACA effect rates? Will offering free and subsidized insurance to everyone including people that were previously ineligible for coverage due to serious health condition raise or lower overall insurance rates? Common sense says rates should skyrocket. This is a political football that is being pushed as far out as possible. Probably past the 2016 election.
ACA is great for hospitals because many of the the previously uninsured or uninsurable will now be back stopped by the taxpayers and the healthy insured's. On the downside they will see lower reimbursement rates for services.
Any major rate increases will be pushed out to 2016 at the earliest. Keep your existing plan as long as you can, it will have lower rates and better providers lists.

"Dr. Azeem Lahka did tooth removal and implant for me last year. He was also referred to me by our client and my general dentist Wayne Cruthcher. Azeem and his team did a great job! It was comfortable, easy and almost painless. Things could not have gone better! I would recommend them to all my friends, family and clients. We always strive to work with Allied Brokers clients whenever possible." ~ Chris Grammar
